Blue Shark Snorkelling

Blue Shark Snorkelling

These unique snorkelling tours give an insight into the world of the amazing Blue Shark. They start appearing in our waters from mid-July and we start running tours from the end of July through to October.

We venture far out into the deep waters of Mounts Bay and beyond. We lay a chum (mix of decaying fish) trail down that attracts the sharks to us, it can take several hours before the sharks start appearing.

Our Blue Shark snorkelling tours are on a whole boat charter basis only and we suggest a maximum of 4 participants, the maximum we will take is 5. The minimum age is 14 and they must be accompanied by an adult.

Please be aware this can be a long day and you must appreciate it can involve a lot of sitting about, at times in choppy seas. As with all wildlife there is no guarantee that they will turn up at all. There are no refunds if they don’t.

We are often lucky enough to see dolphins, whales and a variety of birds on our way to site.

To take part on these tours you must be competent in the water and have prior snorkelling experience and provide your own equipment (we do have limited equipment we can hire out).

You and your party must be fit and able to return on board via a ladder unaided.

You may of course observe from the boat and not enter the water if you wish.

For your safety you’re required to wear a full-length, dark-coloured wetsuit, gloves and hood. We suggest a minimum of 5mm wetsuit. We also advise covering up any shiny equipment, such as camera cases, buckles etc. For those not intending to enter the water, waterproof trousers and jacket are required

You will also require food, water, sun cream, hat, something warm to put on over your wetsuit and a wind proof jacket. Please be aware even on the warmest of summer days it can be very cold out on the water.

The cost for the day’s blue shark snorkelling whole boat charter is £900

Payment of 50% is required at the time of booking to secure the booking with the balance payable two weeks prior to the trip.

Should Atlantic Adventures cancel the tour due to bad weather etc., a full refund will be offered or alternative dates given if requested, dependent on availability.

Should the booking party wish to cancel, a full refund will be given up to 2 months prior to the booked trip, 50% refund one month prior to the booked trip, no refund thereafter.

You enter the water at your own risk, Atlantic Adventures are not liable for you or any member of your party whilst you are in the water. You may wish to consider taking out your own independent personal or group insurance. You will require to sign a weaver prior to departure, copies of which can be provided prior to the day on request.

We have no WC facilities on the boat, so it’s a case of over the side of the boat, ladies can make use of the boat ladder.
